Day 01 : Arrival Delhi

Meet on arrival at Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 02 : Delhi

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi :
OLD DELHI - A sight-seeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting the Raj Ghat - the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India, Red Fort.
NEW DELHI - An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit to the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President's Residence and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 03 : Delhi - Bhopal ( By fast air-conditioned train Dep. 06:15 hrs. Arriv. 14:05 hrs. )

Morning transfer to railway station to board the fast air-conditioned train to Bhopal. Breakfast in the train. On arrival in Bhopal raiway station meet assist and transfer to hotel. Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh is a noted for stunning natural beauty, quaint traditions, ancient edifices and currently the cosmopolitan culture.Later proceed for city sightseeing of Bhopal covering exquisite Taj ul Masjid, meaning the 'crown of mosques' that was constructed at the initiative of Nawab Shah Jehan Begum, The Jama Masjid and the Moti Masjid, that rank with the country's best architectural landmarks , Tribal Habitat Museum - offers a fascinating insight into India's tribal culture , twin lakes.

Day 04 : Bhopal ( Day excursion to Sanchi Stupa & Bhimbetka caves )

After a leisurely breakfast procced to excursion to Sanchi Stupa - Sanchi is an exotic example of Buddhist architecture of ancient India. It is believed that Emperor Ashoka (273-236 BC) built these most magnificent structures of ancient India called the Stupas.Later in the afternoon proceed to Bhimbetka caves - 130 rock shelters..Biggest repository of prehistoric art in India. One of the earliest dwellings of human beings, Bhimbetka will take you back to the history 35000 years old. In fact, the place has witnessed a cultural sequences right from the late stone age to the early historic period. They had lived here for one hundred millennium and had created their own stone floors, left behind hand-axes, cleavers, scrapers. Over these caves the Stone Age artists painted their hopes and fears, weaving an enchantment that still ensnares us. These specimen, display great vitality and narrative skill. One sees on the weather worn walls, rhinoceros, elephants, horses, as well as domestic animals. There are scenes of domestic bliss-a women with a child or performing household chores, and documentation of a hunt, raid during warfare. One cannot remain immune to the excitement that slowly builds up- a memorable moment in time when our ancestors were taking the leap from animal to human existence-groping cautiously to achieve social organization. Experimenting with community life. Later back to Bhopal. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 05 : Bhopal - Gwalior ( By fast air-conditioned train Dep. 14:40 hrs. Arriv. 19:00 hrs. )

Afternoon transfer to raiwlay sttaion to board the fast air-conditioned train to Gwalior. On arrival at Gwalior raiway station meet assist and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 06 : Gwalior

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Gwalior known for its spectacular hilltop citadel. Within walls lie Jain statues, Rajput Palaces, Hindu temples and a Victorian school. Later back to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 07 : Gwalior - Orchha (By road )

After breakfast drive to Orcha, , a historical site with magnificient temples and monuments. Some of the palaces were decorated with painted murals which represent the finest flowering of the Bundela school of painting. Night stay in Orchha.

 

Day 08 : Orchha - Khajuraho ( By road )

After breakfast drive to Khajuraho. On arrival transfer to hotel. Rest of teh day at leisure. Night stay in Khajuraho.

 

Day 09 : Khajuraho

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of khajuraho- famous for the legendary temples of khajuraho built in the 9th and the 10th century. Acknowledged as one of the world's artistic wonders. Khajuraho has achieved fame for the sensual appeal of its erotic sculptures. Night stay in Khajuraho.

 

Day 10 : Khajuraho - Jhansi ( By road ) Jhansi - Agra ( By fast air-conditioned train Dep. 17:56 hrs. Arriv. 20:25 hrs. )

After breakfast transfer to Jhansi railway sttaion to board the fast air-conditioned train to Agra. On arrival at Agra railway station meet assist and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 11 : Agra

After breakfast visit the magnificient Taj Mahal at sunrise- one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife continue visiting the Agra Fort- a hilltop citadel with fabulous courtyards, fountains and gates. Another visit to Tajmahal at sunset. ( Optional ). Evening explore the rich handicraft markets of Agra. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 12 : Agra - Jaipur ( By road Approx 5 Hrs) enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri

Early morning a second visit to Taj Mahal at sunrise , Later drive to Jaipur-the fabled "pink city" of the desert named after Jai Singh, the former Maharaja of Jaipur. This is the only city in the world symbolizing the nine divisions of the universe through the nine rectangular sectors subdividing it. The palaces and forts of the yesteryears, which were witnesses to the royal processions and splendours are now living monuments enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri-a perfectly preserved red sandstone "ghost town" which was the estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed. Arrive Jaipur in late evening & transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 13 : Jaipur

After a relaxed breakfast proceed for a morning excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride ascent to the fort. AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it's ultimate expression. Continue sight-seeing.
CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind DevTemple and the City Palace Museum. JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.
HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace of Winds" is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 14 : Jaipur - Mumbai ( By flight )

After breakfast transfer to airport to board the fligt to Mumbai. On arrival in Mumbai airport meet assist and proceed for city sightseeing of Mumbai covering Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Gardens on the slopes of Malabar Hills offering nice view of Marine Lines & Chowpatty Beach, Kamla Nehru Park, Mani Bhawan (where Mahatma Gandhi used to stay) and then to Dhobi Ghat. Also visit Afgan Church, Flora Fountain (Bombay nerve centre), Colourful Crawford Market and Marine Drive. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 15 : Mumbai

After brakfast proceed for Elephanta Caves
The Elephanta island is known as Gharapuri (fortress city). The 7th century cave temple complex, which has beencarved out of rock under two small holls, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was a flourishing place of pilgrimage tilla few centuries ago. It has a magnificent 18 feet high, three-headed bust of Shiva- the Maheshmurti.
The main cave, which is known as Elephanta, is supported by masasiva pillars, each restin gon a supported by massive pillars, each resing on a square base with fluted shafts. Inside is the main hall housing sculptures of various gods in the Hindu mythology. This well known tourist spot is accessible by boat from the Gateway of India. Later in the afternoon Return back to Mumbai. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 16 : Dept Mumbai

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Airport for onward destination.
