Athirappally Waterfalls is located 78 kms from Kochi (Cochin), located at the entrance to Sholayar ranges, this waterfall is a popular picnic spot. Day 04 : Munnar
Morning after breakfast sightseeing tour of Munnar which includes Tea Plantation, Mattupetty, Attukal Water fall, a panorama of waterfalls and rolling hills, Attukal, located between Munnar and Pallivasal, is a feast for the eyes. The place is also ideal for long treks. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05 : Munnar - Thekkady, 112 km
Morning drive to Thekkady visiting The Power house water fall on the way. From Munnar the waterfall cascades down a steep rock 2000m above sea level. The spot is enriched with the scenic Western mountain ranges, and is an ideal place for a break on the way to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady. On arrival check in at the hotel. In the afternoon a boat-cruise on the Lake, in the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, to watch the wildlife. The lake is an artificial one created by a dam on the Periyar River. Watch wild elephants, Asiatic deer, black buck and tigers at the lake. 'The Periyar Wildlife' sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve in 1978. The reserve attracts visitors from all over the world. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at a close quarter from the safety of a boat on the lake. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06 : Thekkady - Alleppey, 164 km
After breakfast take a guided walk around the village to see how different spices are grown. Then drive to Alleppey, on arrival board the houseboat. Overnight stay in houseboat.
Day 07 : Alleppey - Cochin
Morning after breakfast disembark the house boat and drive to Cochin. On arrival visit the Dutch Palace, built by Portuguese and presented to the Raja of Cochin in 1555 AD, also visit Jewish Synagogue situated in Mattancherry, the Synagogue was built in 1568 AD, St. Francis Church - It is here the remains of Vasco da Gama were initially buried before it was taken to Portugal. Chinese fishing nets - Is said to have been brought from China by traders of Kubala Khan's Court, they are used at high tide. Later transfer to the airport / railway station to board the flight train for onward destination.
